Exodontia of a labially impacted maxillary canine By Dr.Arthur Nouel Upper left canine impacted labially with an enlarged dental follicle and poor apical definition, which apical dilaceration of the root. The deciduous canine remains in place. Elevation of the gingival flap, osteotomy and coronal-radicular odontosection. Use of the Clev-dent elevator to remove the coronal portion of the tooth. Elimination of the dental follicle with a surgical curette. Operatory view Insertion of the straight elevator (Clev-dent) in a perforation made to the root Extraction of the root using the elevator Stitching with 3.0 silk sutures View of the root where one sees the root modification done so the elevator could be utilized, as well as the root dilaceration.
